Learning to count can be fun!
Let’s Count 1 to 10 is a colourful interactive digital book designed to help young children build confidence with their first numbers.
Children are introduced to the numbers 1 to 10 through bright illustrations and simple activities that encourage them to look, count, think, point and answer aloud.
Once they have explored all ten numbers, the book introduces further early maths concepts through activities including:
- recognising and counting quantities
- finding the correct group of objects
- identifying a missing number
- comparing which group has fewer
- finding groups with the same number
- understanding one more
- understanding one less
- counting along from 1 to 10
The activities have been designed specifically to work well as a digital book. Children do not need to print pages, write, draw or colour on the screen.
Parents, grandparents, carers and teachers can enjoy the book alongside the child, encouraging them to point to answers and count aloud.
Educational Value
Let’s Count 1 to 10 supports important early mathematical development, including number recognition, counting, matching numbers to quantities, comparing quantities, number sequencing and the early concepts of one more and one less.
The book is particularly suitable for Early Learning and EYFS/Reception, with useful reinforcement of early Key Stage 1 Mathematics skills.
Designed to support learning within the English National Curriculum.
Early Learning & Key Stage Links
Early Learning / EYFS
Strong relevance to early mathematics, including:
- recognising numbers from 1 to 10
- counting objects accurately
- matching quantities to numbers
- comparing quantities
- recognising equal quantities
- developing an understanding of number order
- building confidence with early mathematical language
Key Stage 1
Provides useful early Year 1 Mathematics reinforcement through:
- counting and number recognition
- number sequencing
- comparing quantities
- identifying missing numbers
- understanding one more
- understanding one less
Key Stage 2
This book is not intended as Key Stage 2 material. Its educational focus is deliberately on early mathematical development.
